The trust is run by the Secular Institute - The Oblate Missionaries of Mary Immaculate. Miss. Thresiamma Mathew (OMMI) is the founder and Director of the Centre. Archana Women's Centre is today undoubtedly a proud achiever of women empowerment and gender equity-equality and women's right.
Archana Women's Centre is a prolongation of Jeevapoorna Women Mason's Society commonly known as JEEWOMS, the first ever association formed for and by women masons, under the leadership of Miss. Thresiamma Mathew, who brought women into the construction scenario. When women were only regarded as helpers, the founder of Archana Women's Centre induced them to stand out in front of the world with their tremendous capability of being skilled women laborers.
Miss. Thresiamma Mathew with her unique vision strongly believed that it was not only economic empowerment that a woman needed but social role change was vital too. She was the harbinger who made society realize that ‘No job is strictly male or female’ and women can without doubt adept at every sphere. She was successful in breaking the social prejudices, traditional taboos and led to a revolution.
