Archana Women's Centre plays a huge role in development and is one of the significant contributions of development. Without the equal inclusion of women in development, women would not be able to benefit or contribute to the development of the country. Employment can help create empowerment for women. Work opportunities and the work environment can create empowerment for women. Empowerment in the workplace can positively affect job satisfaction and performance, having equality in the work place can greatly increase the sense of empowerment.
Women’s economic empowerment includes women’s ability to participate equally in existing markets; their access to and control over productive resources, access to decent work, control over their own time, lives and bodies; and increased voice, agency and meaningful participation in economic decision-making at all levels from the household to international institutions. One of major role of CAGs were economic empowerment of women, for that engaging women in entrepreneurial activities was the major goal of AWC. For that the members of the CAGs were given training in different entrepreneurial activities and enlightened them with the ideas and skills.
The Archana Women Centre was able to effectively implement the major role of CAG - Women Entrepreneurs. The proper guidance and training provided by AWC resulted in the formation of different women led enterprises . The CAG members were able to fulfill their dream of becoming entrepreneurs along with men in the society. Apart for traditional business women these come up with non traditional business activities including petty shops to software business. The enlightened vison of AWC resulted in these women’s economic empowerment, productivity, increases economic diversification and income equality in addition to other positive development outcomes.
