Masonry training to women- This is AWC’s most covetous and significant area of expertise. This is one of the powerful tools to empower women to cross over traditional barriers, facilitate their entry into the construction field as skilled masons-not just helpers-and earn equal wages for equal works. Successful trainees will be privileged to have a University Certificate and can become site supervisors. AWC didn’t cease its intervention in mere training; rather the trained women masons had engaged in construction of buildings commercialize the service. The training cum coordination center at Ettumanoor epitomizes the outcome of the intervention. AWC trained more than thousands of women as skilled masons with the collaboration of Kudumbasree in Kottayam, Idukki, Alappuzha, Palakkad and Ernakulam Districts.

An 18 member team has been trained and launched in to the market of performance during the year of 2019. IT for She
Information Technology becomes the part and parcel of our life. Without computer and digital skill the day to day life is incomplete and it has become v ry mandatory for living. Most of the CAG members are having only basic education and they lack IT skill. During the year we could train 500 women from our CAG groups in IT skills. The actual target was 1000. But as Kudumbasree was running similar programmes, the target got distributed with AWC and Kudumbasree. Those women who underwent the training became more familiar to the computer and its basic knowledge. From the very trivial use of sending messages to the high end use of smart phones; they became masters in no-time. Some of them commented that "we are proud that we also are computer skilled persons" with lot of pride in their voice.. This equipped them with the skill to sustain in the modern world. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise during the pandemic situation as there was a sudden switch over to online trend.

We strengthened our production units and distribution channels to exploit the opportunities that were created by the pandemic and thus encourage healthier practices in the community. AWC gave training to these women in stitching PPE Kit. It was a break through as the demand for PPE kit were high. The training was a great success as we are able to continue the supply of PPE kits through more than 80 units of 5 members and we have a centre at AWC itself. One of our groups of entrepreneurs have developed into a big producer unit with all modern machineries for cutting and sewing and have become capable of providing work to more than 500 women.
