The aims of Archana Women's Centre are a)Identification of deserving women, b) Giving them training on male dominated areas c) Organizing women deserving poor families into CAG's (Community Action Groups), d) Encouraging thrift and investment through credit by developing informal banks of the poor, and most importantly, d) Improving incomes of the poor through developing vocational and entrepreneurial skills and by creating opportunities for self/wage employment.
Micro Enterprises Development & Marketing
Micro Enterprises Development is an important strategy of Archana Women's Centre towards economic empowerment of women. All members of Archana Women's Centre are encouraged to start ‘Micro Enterprises’ using local resources, and financial aid, skill training, hand holding and marketing support provided by the AWC.
The system for Micro Enterprises Development includes both
a) Entrepreneurship Development (Skilling & Management Services) and
b) Enterprise Development (Technical, Financial & Marketing Services).
Entrepreneurship Development involves
a) General Orientation in livelihoods to all new CAG members
b) EDP Training
c) Skill Training
d) Performance Improvement Training
e) Accounting Training
f) Hand holding by Micro Enterprise Consultants
